less than three weeks

I have less than three weeks left until I will be having this baby.  I am excited and have about everything done that needs to be done.  All we have left is putting the cradle out.  I was worried that we were going to have the baby on the 26th of Feb. because baby was breech and she needed to be turned.  There was a slight possibility that if anything went wrong, I would need to have an emergency c-section.

That made me get on the ball and get the clothes out, bags packed, diapers out, and all the other little things that need to be ready.  But since everything went so smoothly with the version, I can be at ease for a few more weeks and prepare myself emotionally for this baby.

I had Travis do a little photo shoot so I could have some pictures to look back on and remember this pregnancy.

I feel so bless and lucky to have such an amazing husband and daughter.  I love my family!

kool-aid easter eggs

I saw on someone's blog that they used Kool-Aid to dye their Easter eggs. (Click here to see the blog)  I fell in love with the idea!  It is such a good sensory project for kids and adults.  You get the fruity smells, the colorful sight, the hands on finger dying, and later on, you can eat the eggs all up.  I also loved that there was no vinegar smell or mess.

So, since I am going to be having a baby in a couple of weeks and I knew I wouldn't want to tackle egg dying with an almost three year old and a new born, I decided to do it early this year. Lucy and I had some fun experimenting.

pregnancy

It's been a while since I have blogged, but something exciting has happened since the last time I did.  We found out that we are expecting another girl and we are so excited!  Lucy is excited to have a sister and we are excited to add another little one to our family.  We have decided on the name Maggie.  I fell in love with this name before I was pregnant.  At my job there is a magician that comes every few months to entertain all the daycare kids.  He has this bunny in a hat and the bunny's name is Maggie.  One day while he was there and I was in the kitchen making meat and cheese sandwiches, I heard him say to the kids, "So kids, do you want to meet my friend Maggie the rabbit?"  As soon as I heard that name, I was hooked.  I am so excited to see what she will look like and what her little personality will be.

The only problem that has come up in the pregnancy is that she is breech. In two weeks if she hasn't turned, I will need to go in and the doctor will have to turn her from the outside.  I keep praying that she will turn because I don't want a cesarean section, but as long as she is healthy and comes out safely, I will be happy.

I am due March 22, 2013, so it is 5 weeks away.  I am getting excited, but scared.  It will be change, but good change.

This was taken at 5 months along.

new car

We have a new car!!  Well...a new, used car.  My first car that I had for college finally died and I had to say good bye to it.  It was harder than I thought it would be.  I will miss my car, but am looking forward to many years with this new one with out many car problems.

children's fair

My brother-in-law, Brandon did a children's fair for one of his classes he was taking at the U and we had the privilege of going.  It was so much fun!  They had  booths for toddlers on up to the youth.  We made a wind sock, did some side walk chalk drawing, finger painted with shaving cream and food coloring, painted, and to top it off, got a pink balloon for the ride home.  I wish they would have fairs like that for adults!  Thanks again, Brandon!  It was amazing and a fun way to spend a Saturday.

I don't know what she was trying to say here, but I love her face!

my garden

I've been wanting a garden for years now and now I am finally able to have one at our new apartment complex. I've decided to start small and expand next year.  My mom bought me two pumpkin plants and they are doing great!  I've weeded them and watered them and told them I love them every night.  I've even kept them in my prayers so that they will actually grow.

I thought it would be fun to grow some pumpkins so come October, we can carve them.  I love having a garden! Even if it only consists of two plants.

This is a few weeks after I planted them.  I am very pleased with their growth!

So here is the end result of our garden.  I feel bad that I didn't keep up with the picture taking.  The plant got huge and all of our neighbors new us as the people with the pumpkins.  I couldn't believe how big the biggest one got.  It took two people to pick it up and bring it inside. We made so much pumpkin puree and had so much left over that we brought it to our church and gave it away to the others.  I think that is a reason why I love gardens so much.  If there is a lot left, it gives me the opportunity to serve others by sharing our garden. I felt really good inside being able to give to others.

I definitely want to try this again when garden season begins.  I also want to attempt tomatoes.  I love to garden!  I'm excited to get a house someday so I can have a bigger space to work with.  But our little section of dirt works just fine for now.

new west jordan library

I am so excited about the new West Jordan Library opening so close to where we live.  I go there almost everyday now.  I was able to go to the grand opening of the library and had so much fun with Lucy!  We walked around the booths, got a balloon, got to see Travis perform his song for the play that he is in (Seussical), and got to walk around the new library.  It is amazing!  Check it out if you haven't had a chance to go yet.

She's showing me her star that she put on her hat! They had a free craft for all the kids.  They were cute hats and Lucy loved wearing it!

Enjoying the new library.

Eating lunch at the park.

We watched Travis perform his song for the play.  He was amazing!

They had different characters at the park.  Lucy wanted to take a picture with Superman!

I love my Lucy!

I gave her a spray bottle because it was so hot!  She had fun spraying the rocks and watching them get wet.
